Danny 'on Manchester United transfer list' as Zenit star enjoys career form
The highly-rated attacking midfielder, who is 27 years old, scored nine goals and provided eight assists to help his side clinch the Russian championship last season, helping to bring him to the attention of some of Europe's top clubs.
Manchester United may be willing to part with around £15million to secure the services of Danny, who has been capped 17 times by Portugal, reports IMScouting.
The player's contract at Zenit is due to expire in 2012, meaning the Old Trafford club may be able to purchase the star at a lower-than-expected price.
Manchester United are believed to be trawling the globe for midfield players capable of replacing club legends Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, who are both in the twilight of their careers and may soon be retiring.
Earlier this week, it was revealed Scholes will be sidelined until after the New Year due to a niggling groin injury.
John O'Shea is another injury concern for the Red Devils this weekend as the side travel to London for a vital clash with out-of-form Chelsea in the Premier League.
