Coleen wants to stay, Rooney to ink new Man Utd contract
Wayne Rooney wants to sign a new contract with Manchester United.
Despite talk of a massive rift with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the Daily Star Sunday says Rooney is STAYING at Manchester United and WILL sign a contract next season.
The England striker's future has been plunged into doubt because of his problems on and off the pitch and his denial of manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s claim that he has missed matches recently because of an ankle injury.
But Rooney, who revealed last week that he had been fit to play, still wants to continue as a United player. This means the club have no intention of selling him.
Despite Real Madrid repeatedly being linked with Rooney, it's understood he has no desire to go abroad and significantly, neither has his wife Coleen.
She prefers to remain close to her family, including her seriously-ill adopted sister, Rosie. The Rooneys also have an 11-month-old baby Kai – another reason for remaining in Cheshire.
One football source told the Daily Star Sunday: “If anyone came in for Rooney – even if it was Real Madrid – United would price him out of the market.”
